Slowly but surely it’s been creeping into our every day lives…Mustache Mania!
Dinnerware, t-shirts, drawer pulls, posters, etc. My kids are obsessed with it! We decorated our school with mustaches to kick off our fundraising event and to give an incentive to sell five items in the first week. You wouldn’t believe the response to a free popsicle with a fun, furry mustache attached!
It’s become a focus for my sons’ bathroom redo. At first I thought maybe I’d use typewriter font for wall decor in typography but then I started noticing mustache items. So, why not combine typography with mustaches decor? Seems like a good fit.
I’m also going to try beadboard wallpaper from Lowe’s. I love the look of beadboard but I want to complete this project super quick so I’m hoping this easy step will get the look I want but without the headache of mitering and sawing. I’ll keep you posted. Or better yet, let me know if you’ve had success using this paper.
Have mustaches become an obsession for you and your home? Check out Cafe Press for a ton of home decor items. I love the photo frame with ‘staches all over, hmmm, where can I put that? For some unique one-of-a-kind items, try Etsy.com, I fell in love with the toilet sticker art. Not quite sure, I want to go there with the mustache theme, though.
If you’re really game and want to make a boy’s room using the mustache theme, the blog Totally Kids, Totally Bedrooms, has done a great job of gathering decor items that would make anyone calm and mustache on.
If living in a mustache world makes your child’s heart happy, how about reading about a mustache mystery? My son just finished, Fake Mustache by Tom Angleberger. Mr. Angleberger is also the author of Origami Yoda and Darth Paper Strikes Back. All three are great reads, especially if you have a Star Wars lovin’, paper-folding, fun-loving kid!
Let me know if mustaches have invaded your world. Did you have a mustache theme wedding? Seriously, if you’ve got a few hours check out all links for “mustache weddings” in your browser.
